General Responsibilities:

Senior Systems Administrator to support and maintain a hybrid enterprise infrastructure serving approximately 700 users across 14 sites. This is a hands-on technical role focused primarily on server administration, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and enterprise application support, with limited networking responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions:

Key Responsibilities Windows Server, User Identity, and Microsoft 365

Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, and identity lifecycle management. Support hybrid identity synchronization and perform server patching and lifecycle management.

Virtualization & On-Prem Infrastructure

Administer VMware and Hyper-V environments, manage VM lifecycle, and support backup and disaster recovery operations.

Enterprise & Third-Party Applications

Support enterprise systems such as ERP systems, Accounting, and SCADA, coordinate with vendors, and participate in scheduled after-hours maintenance windows for updates and patching.

Networking (Limited Scope)

Perform occasional VLAN changes, switch configuration, and troubleshooting on Cisco and Juniper access-layer switches.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

Participate in infrastructure projects, maintain documentation, and automate tasks using PowerShell where appropriate.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of systems administration experience, strong Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, virtualization experience, and working knowledge of networking concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

PowerShell automation, regulated-environment experience, and familiarity with Microsoft security tools.

Additional Key Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of VMware virtualization technology (ESXi, vSphere, HyperV).

Experience with Cisco Meraki and Juniper network infrastructure appliances for routing, switching, wireless, and security.

Experience with Network Management in setting up and configuring routers, switches, and wireless technologies. This includes experience with LAN/WAN management and a high understanding of routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP and OSPF and network protocols TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, SFTP, and HTTPS.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure.

Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 operating systems, including Active Directory,

DHCP, DNS, GPO, ADFS, IIS, and RDP roles and services.

Experience with SAN/NAS technologies, including disk array management and creating and maintaining LUNs.

Understanding of VoIP and PSTN phone systems.

Experience with Enterprise backup and recovery solutions VEEAM and Zerto 

Working knowledge of SQL databases.

Understanding IT security concepts with a strong understanding of NTFS file security and Share permissions

Experience:

Five (5) years of experience in an enterprise environment:

Administering network systems design, setting up, and troubleshooting. 

VoIP configuration, upgrading and maintenance.

Experience with virtualization technology

Experience in configuring Storage Area Networks and Disaster Recovery
